Welcome to Input/Output, the PSRC Data Blog

posted by Billy Charlton on September 26, 2014

The Data Systems and Analysis team at PSRC is comprised of a lively mix of urban planners, data nerds, software developers, demographers, and GIS mapping specialists. We collect and interpret data in order to support informed decisionmaking in our region—and sometimes, the things we’re working on seem like they’d be interesting to more people than just policymakers. Innovative uses of technology, new ways of visualizing information, and surprising findings are buried in the mountains of data all around us.

We thought it would be fun to share this stuff with the Internet, and maybe get some conversations going in our sister agencies and with eager university researchers out there. And with you!

We looked all around online and didn’t find an obvious corner where we could get our hands dirty and talk about the data and tools we use at PSRC. Content that’s longer than a tweet (but shorter than a research paper) didn’t seem to have a home for us. So here we are! Hopefully this blog will fill that niche.

Check back often, or even better, subscribe to the RSS feed using your favorite news reader.

Cheers,
Your PSRC “Data Systems and Analysis” team
