Session #1 (Nov 10, 2026): Branching

• Why branch?
• How to branch and know which branch you’re on by exploring different tools (Github Desktop, RStudio, Git Bash) to see what options you have

Session #2 (TBD): Pull Requests & Merges

• Why and how to create a pull request (PR)
• How to merge branches

Session #3 (TBD): Undoing

• How to undo at each stage of the process:
  1. Unstaged
  2. Staged
  3. Committed but not yet pushed to Github
  4. Committed and already pushed Github
• Restore a single-file from an old commit (but not the whole repo!)

Pre-work

1. Create a Github account

2. Download Github Desktop, RStudio, R, git (Git Bash comes with your git install)

3. Clone the repository git-together

4. Sign into your Github account
